How Do We Help Address Your Chronic Joint Pain?

At Chronic Care of Richmond, we offer our patients non-opioid pain relief. Living with chronic pain and conditions like osteoarthritis, joint pain, knee pain, and chronic muscle pain is a burden. Instead of masking the pain or providing temporary relief, our approach addresses pain at its source and kickstarts your body’s self-healing mechanisms to regenerate and repair damaged tissues and cells.

Our Chronic Joint Pain Relief Therapies in Richmond

If you suffer from arthritis, knee pain, chronic joint pain, or soft tissue damage, and want to avoid damaging cortisone, medications or surgery, you can benefit from these therapies. Our treatment help stimulate the body’s own healing mechanisms instead of masking symptoms with medications or having surgery.

  • Visco Knee Injections or GenVisc
If you've tried physical therapy, corticosteroid injections, and over-the-counter medications and are still suffering from chronic knee pain, Visco knee injections can help. Chronic Care of Richmond will work with Medicare to cover knee treatments and all durable medical equipment, including knee braces, to help stabilize the knee receiving therapy
FDA approved and accepted by Medicare, the benefits of GenVisc include a reduction in pain associated with knee osteoarthritis, improvement in joint mobility and restoration of the range of motion in the knee joint. A series of applications delivered over three to five weeks is necessary for best results. Patients may see improvement immediately, with most reporting significant pain relief within 4 - 6 weeks of their final injection. Pain relief has been shown to last up to six or more months.
  • Prolotherapy
Prolotherapy is a natural, non-surgical joint application in which a natural solution is applied to the soft tissue of an injured joint. It has been shown to provide significant relief for joint or back pain. This treatment can be used to relieve chronic joint pain in the knees, hips, shoulders, back, and other joints and ligaments. It has also been shown to help those with chronic conditions, such as degenerative disc disease or arthritis. Benefits include strengthening of the joint and pain relief, along with improved stability and overall movement and function of the back and joints.
  • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
By harnessing one’s own platelet-rich blood, PRP therapy releases natural growth factors to rebuild collagen, revascularize (create new blood vessels) and restore healthy function. Our treatment helps reduce joint inflammation and over time can help relieve pain and improve joint function and mobility

What Causes Chronic Pain?

Typically, chronic pain is the result of an injury that has not healed properly. Pain is your body's signal that you have been injured and usually resides once the injury is healed. Sometimes, however, injuries can damage the surrounding nerves, tissues, and ligaments which can cause chronic pain. Other causes of chronic pain result from underlying disorders or age. Our treatment has shown promising results as an approach for chronic pain that results from various causes. From joint pain and arthritis to post injury pain, chronic pain therapy is a viable option for pain reduction.

In addition to the symptoms of physical pain, chronic joint pain can also be accompanied by symptoms such as exhaustion, lack of appetite, trouble sleeping, and mood changes. Most medical professionals define chronic pain as "incurable" and only work to lessen symptoms. Recent research, however, has shown that chronic pain therapy is a promising new approach for managing chronic pain.

Had my initial appointment and met with Amber - she was great. The pricing, which of course is gone over at the very end, was too much for me. It's $1,797.00!! They do offer financing which is great but its still $300 for 6 months or $200 for 9 months.... I just couldn't swing it but with what they offer I believe this...
