Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression

Chronic back pain can be a difficult problem to address, yet it is also debilitating and greatly reduces quality of life. If you have been suffering from chronic back pain and your doctor has recommended surgery, there is an alternative.

Surgery should often be considered the absolute last resort as it comes with a wide range of risk factors and often has minimal benefits.

Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a non-invasive alternative to back surgery that can address:

  • Chronic back or neck pain
  • Sciatic pain
  • Bulging or herniated disks
  • Degenerative disk disease
  • Posterior facet syndrome
  • Injured or damaged spinal nerves
  • Spinal stenosis
  • And more...

Chronic Care specializes in spinal decompression therapy. This well-studied therapy uses cutting edge technology and professional equipment to provide relief from chronic back pain. With multiple sessions and additional therapeutic treatments, patients may experience sustained relief from chronic back pain, improved range of motion and better quality of life.

What is Spinal Decompression?

Spinal decompression is a non-invasive treatment that reduces pressure in the spine, increases blood flow between the spinal discs and encourages the natural healing process of the body. This is accomplished through a measured and safe stretching of the spine on a decompression table. The patient is strapped safely into the technological table and preprogrammed instructions are initiated. The table then moves to gently stretch the spine to decompress the spinal discs and reposition the vertebrae to their natural position.

When the spine is decompressed, there is an improved flow of blood, nutrients and oxygen to the affected areas. This allows for an increased chance of healing as the body will naturally carry healing agents to the affected areas. Additionally, those suffering from bulging discs will find relief from decompression as it creates more space and allows the discs to move back into their normal positioning.

Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a safe and controlled therapy that has proven benefits. While multiple sessions are often required for maximum benefit, it is a safer and sometimes more effective alternative to surgery.

I had an injection in my left hip. Went from going up the stairs leaning heavily on the handrail to walking up easily within 3 months, and back to hiking!! I would definitely recommend this procedure to anyone with cartilage degeneration but don't wait until it's all gone!

Chronic care of Richmond has relieved the pain in my knee that I had been going to get fluid drained and shots that only lasted a couple of weeks. I was told that I needed to have my knee replaced because it was bone on bone but I was not old enough so my future for the next 6 to 7 years was to keep getting fluid drain...
